The spirit is crafted by the legendary ‘Men of Tain’—the small, dedicated team of artisans who have passed down their skills for generations, ensuring every drop is made in the same unhurried and uncompromised way since 1843.
The Giraffe-High Stills: At Glenmorangie, we are famous for our magnificent stills. With necks the same height as a fully grown adult giraffe, they are the tallest in Scotland. This incredible height ensures that only the very lightest and purest vapours ascend to the top, resulting in a spirit that is exceptionally smooth, clean, and packed with delicate, fruity, and floral notes.
Pioneering Cask Maturation: A pioneer in extra-maturation, Glenmorangie has always understood the importance of wood. ‘The Original’ is matured for ten years exclusively in the finest first and second-fill American white oak ex-bourbon casks. Our meticulous approach to sourcing these ‘designer casks’—often from the north-facing slopes of Missouri’s Ozark mountains—lends our whisky its signature layers of delicious flavour.
Tasting Notes:
