A Legacy of Family Ownership: Since William Grant and his family built the distillery by hand in 1887, Glenfiddich (Gaelic for ‘Valley of the Deer’) has remained proudly family-owned. This independence allows us to maintain our founder’s vision and innovative spirit. We are one of the last distilleries to use a single source of natural spring water, the Robbie Dhu, from start to finish, ensuring the purity and quality of our whisky.

Matured in the Finest Casks: Our 12 Year Old expression is carefully matured for at least 12 years in a combination of the finest American oak and European Oloroso sherry casks. This dual cask maturation imparts a beautiful balance of flavours. The American oak brings vibrant vanilla notes, while the sherry wood lends a rich, fruity character. After ageing, the whiskies are married together in large oak tuns for up to nine months to ensure a perfect harmony and consistency of flavour.
